Earlier Reference: Etchings of François Balthazar Solvyns
François Balthazar Solvyns has made etchings on Indian society. it was published under the title "A Collection of Two Hundred and Fifty Coloured Etchings: Descriptive of the Manners, Customs and Dresses of the Hindoos". Calcutta, 1796, 1799. About 36 boats we can traced there under "Boats of Bengal".
