Oldest form of transport made trough trial and error became technologically 'over developed'. A living tradition in this part of the world is dwindling. Documentation of intangible cultural heritage is inevitable for posterity. A to-the-scale model is but a humble effort of mine in this lockdown space given by Covid-19.
আদিমতম যান বিস্তর পরীক্ষা-নিরীক্ষার ফসল। এবং তা সর্বোৎকৃষ্ট সেই জায়গা আর সময়ের নিরিখে। প্রয়োজনের অভাবে আজ হারিয়ে যেতে বসেছে সেই বৈচিত্র। ভবিষ্যতের জন্য এই সংক্রান্ত তথ্য স্বযত্নে রক্ষায় এই প্রচেষ্টা। লকডাউনের সৃষ্টি।
Kaile Bachhari
A shell built long and narrow paddled racing boat of Bangladesh. Length of the boat can be 60 to 70 haat. Hundred paddlers can accommodated. The shape of the boat derived from a fish. Striking features are the long stem and stern heads with elaborate adornment.
It can be assumed that this is also a warning of Bengal like CHHIP.
কাইলে বাছারী
নৌকা বাইচের নৌকো কাইলে বাছারী। মূলত বাংলাদেশের গোপালগঞ্জে এই জাতীয় নৌকো বাইচে যোগ দেয়। 60-70 হাত লম্বা এই নৌকোর মাথা আর পেছনের দিকের লম্বা কাঠ অনেকটা মাছের সুচালো মুখের মতো। 100 জন বাইচেল বৈঠা নিয়ে এই নৌকো নিয়ে বাইচ প্রতিযোগিতায় নামে।
নৌকোর গঠন, নৌকোর ব্যবহারের নিরিখে এ কথা বলাই যায় এই নৌকোও বাংলার রণতরী। মধ্যযুগের বাংলার নদী সংকুল দেশে নদী বেষ্টনী এই জাতীয় নৌকো দ্বারাই সুরক্ষিত থাকতো।
